The Spanaway Lake Sentinels were the 55-53 winner over the Lakes Lancers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Spanaway Lake was outmatched by Lakes on the road and fell 70-27. While losing is never fun, Spanaway Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Lakes is ranked 109th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ehmarii Mcchristian, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Mcchristian is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Samara Oliver was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Spanaway Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lakes, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Lincoln the next time they take the court. Lakes will head out to face Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Spanaway Lake will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
