The Silverado Skyhawks will square off against the Cheyenne Desert Shields at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Silverado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Cheyenne will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Silverado extended their winning streak to three two weeks ago. The Skyhawks blew past Sports Leadership & Management 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Giovanni Guariglia and Preston Clark were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Guariglia struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Clark pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Guariglia got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three runs, while Clark went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Guariglia has become a key player for Silverado: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Hogan Hawkins was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Silverado is undefeated when Hawkins posts two or more runs, but 6-10-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Marek Piekarski, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Silverado hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sports Leadership & Management struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Cheyenne rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Pioneers 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Desert Shields in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won four in a row.
Raymundo Chevalier was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Silverado's victory bumped their record up to 18-10-1. As for Cheyenne, their win bumped their record up to 19-9.
