The Bixby Spartans had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Owasso, posting a 56-14 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Bixby, who have now won 11 matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
Jett Turner was a one-man wrecking crew for Bixby as he rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Turner was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Carson Kirby was another key contributor, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown.
Bixby's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Owasso's QB won't forget Hank Puckett anytime soon given Puckett sacked him twice.
Despite the loss, Owasso still got an impressive performance from Noah Hill, who picked up 162 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Knox Dyson, who threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns.
The victory for Bixby keeps them at an undefeated 12-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 48.53 points. As for Owasso, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3.
Bixby will take on Jenks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jenks is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Owasso does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
