After flying high against McLean on Friday, the Einstein Titans came back down to earth. Einstein was the victim of a rough 62-38 loss at the hands of Paint Branch on Monday. Einstein has not had much luck with Paint Branch recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Paint Branch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Horm out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Horm is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Lee, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Einstein bumped their record down to 1-1 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Paint Branch, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Einstein will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bethesda-Chevy Chase at 7:15 p.m. on December 21st. As for Paint Branch, they will head out on the road to face off against Seneca Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Seneca Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
