It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Poly had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 34-24 victory over the Santiago Sharks. The win was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on six straight.
Poly didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Chubbs Meacham and Brody Brackett.
Several Sharks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Hughes, who picked up 83 receiving yards, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Clayton Plewe was another key player, having thrown for 291 yards and two touchdowns.
Poly's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Santiago, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Poly has already played their next matchup, a 28-8 loss against San Dimas on the 14th. Santiago does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
