Volleyball Recap: Whitewater's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games + How To Watch

Whitewater dropped down to 20-6-1 on Thursday, ending the team's eight-game streak of wins. They lost 3-0 to the McIntosh Chiefs. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Chiefs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Lailah Brown paced Whitewater's offense, picking up eight kills. Brown got some help from Matilde Kofoed and her ten assists. Rylee Vessell and Evie Higman kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

As for McIntosh, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 24 of their last 26 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-8 record this season. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 16th (when they won 3-0).

Leading McIntosh to victory were Nana Horiuchi and Baylee Tanton. Horiuchi had six aces and three digs, while Tanton had six digs and six assists. Those six aces gave Horiuchi a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Whitewater will square off against Union Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McIntosh, they will take on Woodward Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
