After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wayne, the Scott Skyhawks were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Poca by a score of 52-41. That's another feather in the cap for Scott, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kelsey Harper was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Haven Tomblin was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Poca saw an underclassman step up: Chloe Wheeler scored 12 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wheeler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hanna Moore, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Scott's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Poca, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Scott won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Sissonville will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Poca will take on the Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
