Cole O'Connell was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Oxford's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 4-2 (and 7-8 when he doesn't). O'Connell was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Blake Huston was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Oxford is undefeated when Huston posts two or more runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Jackson Geisweit was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
