Sunnyslope has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Apollo Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Apollo took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sunnyslope, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, everything went Sunnyslope's way against Horizon as Sunnyslope made off with a 54-33 win.
Sunnyslope's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amelia Mickelson , who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan McIlroy , who scored 6 points along with 9 assists and 6 steals.
Meanwhile, Apollo was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 41-35 to Paradise Valley. Apollo has not had much luck with Paradise Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Salpointe Catholic's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Sunnyslope's loss dropped theirs to 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Sunnyslope against Apollo when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 73-27 victory. Will Sunnyslope repeat their success, or does Apollo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
