This season hasn't been kind to the Esparto Spartans, who are still winless after their 13th contest. They had to suffer through a rough 58-28 loss at the hands of Calistoga.
Esparto lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Antonio Seastrunk Jr., who scored 11 points along with four steals. Seastrunk Jr. scored a full 39.3% of Esparto's points, the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Oliver , who scored seven points.
Esparto's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-13. As for Calistoga, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Esparto will head out on the road to face off against Highlands at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Calistoga will finish 2023 at home by hosting Elsie Allen at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Elsie Allen is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
