In what's become a running theme this season, the Alamo Navajo Cougars gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to Corona/Vaughn for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-28 win at home. With Alamo Navajo ahead 50-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Alamo Navajo got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Scotty Guerro out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Guerro has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Apache, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals.
Alamo Navajo's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Corona/Vaughn, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hondo Valley the next time they take the court. Alamo Navajo will host Hondo Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Corona/Vaughn will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
