The Plum Mustangs will square off against the Avonworth Antelopes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Plum's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Penn Hills. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Michael Tedrick looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Ryan Lafferty, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Plum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Avonworth entered their tilt with Shady Side Academy on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Bulldogs 7-0.
The result came thanks to Carson Franc's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mason Metz and Case Latore did most of the damage at the plate: Metz scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Latore went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Metz has been hot recently, having also posted at least one home run the last three times he's played. Jack Dolan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Avonworth pushed their record up to 11-1-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average this season. As for Plum, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Plum skirted past Avonworth 8-7 when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Antelopes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
