The Plum Mustangs will square off against the Avonworth Antelopes at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Plum's pitching crew heads into the  contest  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by  a  15-0 margin over Penn Hills. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Mustangs.
 Michael Tedrick looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. What's more,  he posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024.

 At the plate, Plum got a  massive  performance out of  Jake Dombkowski, who  went 2-for-3 with two  triples, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  four  RBI gave  Dombkowski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ryan Lafferty, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 Plum  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .630. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Avonworth entered their tilt with Shady Side Academy on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Bulldogs 7-0.
The result came thanks to  Carson Franc's shutout, as he gave up just two  hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Mason Metz and  Case Latore did most of the damage at the plate:  Metz  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4, while  Latore  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Metz has been hot recently, having also posted  at least one  home run the last three times he's  played.  Jack Dolan was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases.
 Avonworth pushed their record up to 11-1-1 with the  victory, which was their 13th straight  at home dating back to last season. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average this season. As for Plum, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
 Plum skirted past Avonworth  8-7 when the teams last played  back in May of 2022. Do  the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Antelopes turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
