After starting their season with three straight games on the road, Satellite is finally coming home. They will host the West Shore Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.
Last Tuesday, Satellite didn't have quite enough to beat Viera and fell 2-1. The Scorpions haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Satellite's goal came courtesy of
Paige Collins, who's now up to three this season.
Meanwhile, West Shore hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They and The First Academy finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw. The outcome might've been different if Skyler Clark hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited her ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.
West Shore used a slightly different lineup for their bout with The First Academy. Danielle Sorgenfrei played for 57 minutes having averaged 31.8 this season and Anita Mahindra got 72 vs. an average of 50.8. Mahindra made the most of the opportunity, putting up an assist. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Satellite now has a losing record at 1-2. West Shore's draw makes their record 1-0-4 this season.
Satellite took their victory against West Shore in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 3-0. Does Satellite have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Shore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
