The Grantsville Cowboys struggled with threes on Friday (the Union Cougars had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Grantsville took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. Grantsville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Grantsville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxon Kell, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Roberts, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Wayke Olsen was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals for Union. Olsen is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Bell, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Grantsville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Union, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Grantsville will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Union, they will be playing at home against the Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ben Lomond is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
