Brilee Day was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Baylee Huth, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Marion Wyss was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Northrop kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat.
