Reagan fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Miramar on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miramar Patriots. The Bison's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Defeat or not, Reagan got some senior leadership from Sebastian Gonzalez and Chris Bravo. Gonzalez posted 18 points and seven rebounds, while Bravo had 16 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for Bravo. Another player making a difference was Ronal Hodelin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miramar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Skinner, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Skinner has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Siah Blot, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 22 points.
Reagan's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Miramar, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Reagan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Archbishop McCarthy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Reagan has won three straight at home, while Archbishop McCarthy won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
