Fairfield Prep took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They claimed a resounding 38-8 win over the Southington Blue Knights at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-0.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Robert Manning and his top target Finbar Malloy. Manning threw for 200 yards and four touchdowns while Malloy picked up 85 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Fairfield Prep's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Raymond Ferranti and Anthony Dorsi.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield Prep will square off against Hand at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southington, they will venture away from home to take on Conard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Southington focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday.
