Creekview is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Newman Smith a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Creekview Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Newman Smith Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Newman Smith took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Creekview, who comes in off a win.
Creekview will bounce into Friday's contest after beating The Colony, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
While Creekview might've won, it sure wasn't easy: The Colony scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

Priyanka Thomas was the offensive standout of the match as she had three digs and three aces. What's more, she racked up 14 assists, the most she's had over her last seven matchups. Ilania Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Creekview was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 2-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Newman Smith lost 3-0 to Highland Park on Tuesday.
While Newman Smith was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Highland Park's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-18, 25-22.
Newman Smith's loss dropped their record down to 7-25. As for Creekview, their victory bumped their record up to 11-25.
