Baseball Game Preview: First Flight Nighthawks vs. Pasquotank County Panthers

For the second straight game, First Flight will face off against Pasquotank County. The Nighthawks will face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (First Flight has three straight wins, Pasquotank County has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Ben LaVier looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Everest Ouellette was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Aaron Stewart, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4.

First Flight always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
