The Beth Haven Bearcats waltzed into their matchup Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 76-58 win over Ryle. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Beth Haven's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Harris led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Harris' fifth in a row with at least ten points. DaMontez Malone was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Beth Haven pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.3 points per game. As for Ryle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beth Haven will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Palmetto Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Palmetto Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 284th in South Carolina, while Beth Haven is ranked 106th in Kentucky). Ryle will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Milford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
