Bentworth hasn't had much luck against Burgettstown recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
California hit Bentworth with a five-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bearcats fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 9-8.
Nolan Anderson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Jacob Cavanaugh was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jayden Roach put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Roach was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Blake Neal made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Matthew Bredel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bentworth has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Burgettstown struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bentworth couldn't quite get it done against Burgettstown when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 3-0. Can the Bearcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
