It was a good run, but the Lafayette County Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 51-26 defeat at the hands of Bradley. While losing is never fun, Lafayette County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Bears are ranked 96th).
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trinity McKinney, who scored ten points along with four steals. McKinney hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was JaMaya Davis, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Lafayette County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Bradley, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette County will take on the Hornets at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bradley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Bears at 3:30 p.m. on February 9th.
