Baseball Recap: Dwight Has No Trouble Against St. Bede

Dwight lost to St. Bede on Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 11-3 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Dwight has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Bede, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-2.

Dwight and St. Bede should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Trojans will take on Newark at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (218 vs. 446). Meanwhile, St. Bede (ranked 62nd) will meet Parkview Christian Academy (ranked 248th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bruins 3.1, the Falcons 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
