Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Clinton Arrows walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Chargers a 4-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for Clinton, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.
They hit Oxford with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Cooper Pletzke,
Isabella Jones,
Cooper Holmes, and
Lauren Warner.
Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 13-4-3. As for Oxford, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7-1.
Clinton will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Madison Central at 5:00 p.m. on February 13th. Madison Central will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Clinton surely won't give up without a fight. Oxford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
