If the Gustavus Foxes were feeling good off their 59-27 takedown of the Thorne Bay Wolverines on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Gustavus fell 51-38 to Hydaburg on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gustavus in their matchups with Hydaburg: they've now lost four in a row.
Gustavus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tucker Kelly, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phin Patrick, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Gustavus' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hydaburg, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Gustavus' road trip will continue as they head out to face Hydaburg on January 10th. As for Hydaburg, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Gustavus. Hopefully Gustavus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
