Wolfe County is 10-0 against Jackson City since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wolfe County Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Jackson City Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Wolfe County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 599 points over their last nine contests.
Wolfe County pushed their score all the way to 72 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 83-72 to Perry County Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on January 8th (64), Wolfe County still had to take the loss.
Despite their defeat, Wolfe County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Caleb Creech, who scored 24 points, was perhaps the best of all. Camden Oliver was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Jackson City suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Estill County 74-41. While losing is never fun, Jackson City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Estill County is ranked 117th).
Wolfe County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Jackson City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-13.
Wolfe County was able to grind out a solid victory over Jackson City in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 72-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wolfe County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
