Tuscarora has gone 9-1 against Rock Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Tuscarora had just enough and edged out Herndon 8-6.
Lily Walker tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brileigh Bass, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. Chloe Wools was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rock Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with an 18-15 win over Dominion on Friday.
Riya Cherukuri made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Cherukuri was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Kyra Young was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Laasya Bandi, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.
Rock Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Rock Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Tuscarora, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
Everything went Tuscarora's way against Rock Ridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Tuscarora made off with a 16-0 victory. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
