The Lightridge Bolts fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Briar Woods Falcons on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 50-48. Lightridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Briar Woods apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Wednesday.
Briar Woods' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Devon Pettibone, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pettibone has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Brzezanski, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Lightridge's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Briar Woods, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12.
Lightridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-41 defeat vs. Potomac Falls on the 7th. Briar Woods has also already played their next match, a 59-55 defeat against Independence on the 7th.
