The St. Paul Central Minutemen will head out on the road to face off against the Columbia Heights Hylanders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Minnesota (St. Paul Central is ranked 359th, while Columbia Heights is ranked 341st).
St. Paul Central pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 75-61 fall against St. Louis Park. St. Paul Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sasha Ickes, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Regina Williams, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 63 points the game before, Columbia Heights were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a serious blow against Academy of Holy Angels, falling 63-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Columbia Heights has scored all season.
St. Paul Central has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Columbia Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
St. Paul Central couldn't quite finish off Columbia Heights in their previous matchup back in December of 2015 and fell 49-47. Can St. Paul Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
