Armwood (Seffner, Fla.) scored 21 points in the second quarter to secure a big 30-0 victory over Tampa Bay Tech (Tampa, Fla.) on Saturday.
The Hawks scored on a
Darryl Richardson touchdown run, a touchdown run and a touchdown catch by
Alvin Bailey in the quarter.
Armwood was up 21-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Richardson touchdown run in the second quarter.
AHS expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. The Seffner school's lone score in the quarter came on a Bailey touchdown run.
The Hawks' most effective player was Bailey. The senior wide receiver ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. A member of the Top 25 Wingbacks, Bailey has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The loss comes after Tampa Bay Tech defeated King 14-0 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for Armwood, which lost to American Heritage last week, 36-28. The loss snapped the Titans' 2-game winning streak.
Tampa Bay Tech (2-1) will play a 7A District 7 game against Chamberlain next week, while Armwood (2-1) will take on Leto in a 6A District 8 game.
