The Norco Cougars pushed their score all the way to 92 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 102-92 hit to the loss column at the hands of King. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (80), Norco still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Norco still got an impressive performance from Kameron Brown, who scored 40 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Mendias, who scored 16 points.
King's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Harrell, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 4 assists. Mathias Tinker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 assists.
Norco has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season. As for King, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-18.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norco will take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Corona is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for King, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully the Wolves like a good challenge.
