Eldorado had lost eight straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-16 to make it nine. They fell 22-19 to the Rancho Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-3 back in March.
Briana Figueroa and Kimberly Dominguez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Figueroa went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Dominguez went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Serenity Marquez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for Rancho, they moved to 6-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Rancho's side, Tatum Weller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered 12 runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. Weller has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Rancho let Katelee Nelson and Layla Stout run wild. Nelson got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Stout went 3-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most runs Nelson has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Osbahr, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Eldorado will take on Chaparral at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rancho, they will square off against Mojave at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rattlers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.93 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
