It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Nativity BVM Green Wave can now relate to. They fell to Minersville 19-13. The matchup was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Nativity BVM was just barely outscored by Minersville in the second.
Nativity BVM's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan Ferhat, who gained 75 total yards and a touchdown.
Minersville's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Stevenosky, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown. Stevenosky is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Dante Carr and his 91 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Minersville's win.
Nativity BVM now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Minersville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Nativity BVM does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Minersville will take on Marian Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
