The Schalmont Sabres will head out on the road to take on the Lansingburgh Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Schalmont took a serious blow against the Cadets, falling 82-53. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Schalmont in their matchups with the Cadets: they've now lost seven in a row.
Lansingburgh has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by Catholic Central 75-48 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Lansingburgh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Crusaders are ranked seventh).
Schalmont's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Lansingburgh, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Schalmont couldn't quite finish off the Knights in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 65-62. Can Schalmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
