Henryville is 7-2 against South Central since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Henryville Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Central Rebels at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Henryville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 58-46 to Borden.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aydan Head, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Head is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Cooper, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, South Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Southwestern, falling 92-56. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (55), South Central still had to take the loss.
Henryville dropped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for South Central, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
Henryville came out on top in a nail-biter against South Central when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 49-46. Will Henryville repeat their success, or does South Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
