After six games on the road, Laurel is heading back home. They will take on the Flowers Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Laurel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Flowers is ranked 29th).
Last Monday, Laurel had to suffer through a rough 75-40 loss at the hands of Bowie. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Laurel in their matchups with Bowie: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Flowers can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Eleanor Roosevelt, posting a 63-33 victory on the road. That's two games straight that Flowers has won by exactly 30 points.
Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Flowers, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-1.
Laurel took a serious blow against Flowers in their previous meeting back in January, falling 56-14. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Laurel was down 33-5.
