Basketball Recap: Gracie Panter and Kallie Parson Secure Win for Grundy County

There's no place like home for Grundy County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Cascade Champions by a score of 72-62 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Yellowjackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Grundy County was led to victory by Kallie Parson and Gracie Panter. Parson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Panter went 10 for 12 en route to 28 points. Parson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played.

Grundy County was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Several Champions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophie Ray, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 20 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Ray has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Parker, who posted 18 points.

The win got Grundy County back to even at 8-8. As for Cascade, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Grundy County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-34 victory against South Pittsburg on the 28th. As for Cascade, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-54 defeat against Fayetteville on the 28th.
