Claremont and Ayala are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Claremont Wolfpack's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Ayala Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Claremont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
On Monday, Claremont came up short against Compton and fell 63-50.
Claremont's loss came about despite a quality game from Jaden Wang, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Wang pulled down eight or more rebounds. Aarion Kennebrew was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Ayala pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Upland.
Claremont has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Ayala, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
Claremont was taken down by Ayala 80-37 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Claremont, Dylan Victorio (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
