Baseball Recap: Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Takes a Loss

After flying high against St. Thomas More Academy last Thursday, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill came back down to earth. The Lion took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights on Friday. The Lion were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 7-3.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Chappell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill will host St. Thomas More Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chancellors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.57 runs per game on average), something the Lion will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they will be playing at home against Friendship Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.75 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
