Chester had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Eau Claire on Thursday. The Cyclones' pitchers stepped up to hand the Shamrocks a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cyclones, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Chester has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Eau Claire, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Chester beat the Shamrocks by a score of 18-0 later that day.
