The Avenal Buccaneers were the 50-45 winner over the Dos Palos Broncos when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Avenal was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 51-50 to the Broncos. Avenal has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jacquez Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dos Palos, scoring 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sixto Ibarra, who scored six points.
Avenal has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for Dos Palos, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avenal will take on the Horned Toads at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coalinga is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Dos Palos, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m.
