Baseball Recap: Belvidere's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Belvidere can bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rockford East E-Rabs with a sharp 28-1 win. The Bucs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Elijah Follis looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Chris Medina was incredible, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with six runs, six RBI, and one stolen base. Those six runs gave him a new career-high. Paul Stark was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Belvidere always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .729. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Belvidere's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-16. As for Rockford East, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Belvidere is taking a road trip to square off against Marengo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockford East will be paying especially close attention to the Bucs' contest: after the Bucs face off against the Indians, they'll take on Rockford East again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
