Pearce is 6-0 against Irving since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pearce Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Irving Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Pearce beat Nimitz 39-31. Given Pearce's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Nimitz is ranked 974th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tatum Vroonland was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. The game was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Strange, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Irving earned a 55-48 victory over Berkner on Tuesday.
Pearce pushed their record up to 10-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Irving, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Pearce strolled past Irving when the teams last played back in January by a score of 44-28. Will Pearce repeat their success, or does Irving have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
