A feisty cat fight will be fought as Chipley Tigers take on Paxton Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Karley Welch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, Olivia Brown was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Kenzlee Nelson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Brown wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Chipley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Paxton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against Laurel Hill as Paxton made off with a 16-1 win.
Paxton let Avionnah Padgett and Alyssa Falk run wild. Padgett scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Falk scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Hall, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Chipley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Paxton, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
