Softball Recap: Santa Teresa Wins Going Away Against Horizon

Santa Teresa won the last time they faced Horizon and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors' way against the Horizon Scorpions as the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors made off with a 23-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Desert Warriors.

Jazmine Gonzalez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up five earned runs off only two hits (and only one walk). Gonzalez was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Santa Teresa got a massive performance out of Bridgette Sandoval, who scored four runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ysabella Moraga, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Santa Teresa now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Santa Teresa will head out on the road to face off against Lovington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Santa Teresa's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Horizon, they will be playing at home against Da Vinci at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
