Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Merrill should expect quite the challenge on Friday. Their bye week comes to an end as they meet up with Ashland at 7:00 PM . Merrill will be looking to avenge the 20-32 loss they took the last time these two teams played.
Their game three weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Merrill, but their most recent game may have softened the blow. They were able to grind out a solid win over Rhinelander two weeks ago, winning 21-7.
Meanwhile, Ashland might be getting used to good results now that the team have seven wins in a row. They blew past Rhinelander 28-6. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (22) and coasted on those for the victory.
