Herscher had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Lisle on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tanner Jones was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mason Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.

Herscher's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Lisle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6-1.

Herscher will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
