MEYERSDALE, Pa. -
Shade (Cairnbrook, Pa.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 39-28 win over
Meyersdale (Pa.).
The Panthers scored six points in the first quarter. Shade scored on a
Cody Kiser touchdown pass to
Nash Walker.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Kiser to Walker in the first quarter, SHS led 18-7 at the half.
The Cairnbrook school expanded its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. The Panthers scored three times in the third, including once on a
Brock Medva touchdown run.
Shade's standout player in the win was Medva. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
Lance Leydig played well for the Red Raiders. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown.
SHS got revenge for last year's 35-18 loss to Meyersdale with the victory.
Meyersdale (1-8) will play a non-conference game against Tussey Mountain next week, while Shade (5-4) will take on Rockwood in a Western Pennsylvania [WPAC] game.
