Ally Brady made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Nevaeh Tarr was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Goodpaster, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
North Bay Haven Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Altha challenged Chipley on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 13-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Like North Bay Haven Academy, Altha also got a great game from a two-way player: Reagan Roberts. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Roberts was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaylean Clowes was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Tarrin McCrone was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
North Bay Haven Academy pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Altha, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. North Bay Haven Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Altha struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
North Bay Haven Academy took their win against Altha in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
