The Elmwood-Murdock Knights are still undefeated this season after their game against the Syracuse Rockets on Thursday, but the Syracuse Rockets came as close as anyone has to beating them. Elmwood-Murdock had just enough and edged Syracuse out 31-28. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Elmwood-Murdock has scored all year.
Tatum Backemeyer was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Brooke Goudie was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Elmwood-Murdock pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.75 points. As for Syracuse, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Elmwood-Murdock will head out on the road to face off against Sacred Heart on Friday. Syracuse will be home for the holidays to greet Lincoln Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
